This is the main event in the footballing calendar this year – UEFA Euro 2016 starting 10th June to 10th July. With France the host, all over Europe fans have started the countdown to this truly spectacular tournament. With 24 countries taking part every match should prove to be full of excitement and anticipation.
France will open the Euro against Romania in St-Denis on 10th June while Spain start their defence versus the Czech Republic on 13th June.
England’s first game in Group B is against Russia on Saturday 11th June with an 8pm kick-off. Followed by two more games in the first round against Wales on the 16th and Slovakia on the 20th.
Could this just be the year that this young England team become Hodgson’s Heroes? Maybe 50 years on from winning the World Cup it’s time for that winning chant “Football’s coming home”!
