There’s a huge weekend in store for all you sports fans. Sport has always been a part of my life; supporting West Ham as a kid (seeing my Dad, a season ticket holder for many years, returning from a match either deflated or happy), then watching boyfriends play park footie on a Sunday morning, being introduced to cricket & golf when I met my husband and then cheering our two sons on when playing football, basketball, cricket. So this weekend we will be glued to the TV to take-in these three great finals. Wimbledon Womens finals on Saturday, Wimbledon Mens finals on Sunday and the Euro 2016 final also on Sunday.
Is watching/supporting sport a regular thing in your home? I don’t think I’ve ever thought about it before but I guess there are some folks out there who don’t watch the sports channels and are just not interested who wins. Even if you are not a sporty person yourself, watching a good match can certainly get your blood pumping and I’m thinking that’s a good thing, right? We all need a little adrenalin rush in our lives and watching some thrilling finals, like the ones happening this weekend, is an easy fix. For us ardent sports fans this weekend is only the build-up to a Summer of excitement watching the Olympics and willing our athletes to push for those Gold Medals.
Euro 2016, we are almost at the end of a month full of highs and lows. So sad to see England knocked out by tiny Iceland who seriously played a much better game! And Brilliant to witness the heart and skill of Wales which took them all the way to the Semi-Finals. However, It’s Portugal V France or Germany in the Final on Sunday … who will you be cheering on?
If the Euros have inspired you to have a kick around with your mates or set-up a new 7-a-side team we’ve got the boots, kit and all the equipment you will need in Brandshop’s Sports Department [Sports-Player]
Wimbledon finals weekend is so very English, we love traditions in our Sport – breakout the Pimms and strawberries & cream! And with the weather set fair this years finals should prove to be really entertaining. If you are lucky enough to have a ticket the atmosphere at this event is electric and there are always plenty of celebs there too. Tennis is an amazing sport that anyone can play – there are some great clubs up and down the country and you are never too young or old to start.
